Notice of the intention to merge the Five Pound Football Club with Monmouth Town FC

The partnership between Monmouth Town FC (MTFC) and the Five Pound Football Club (FPFC) has been a very welcome and exciting development both for the club and the online FPFC community. However, given the departure of key FPFC members and the volunteer base of MTFC, it has proven unwieldy and difficult to administer.

For that reason we are intending to merge FPFC with MTFC. As soon as FPFC members chose to invest in MTFC, they effectively became members of the club and this move will cement that relationship. FPFC members will remain members of MTFC and retain all the benefits (voting rights on many important issues, discounted match entry, use of the forum, being kept up to date with events at the club, etc).

The shares held in Monmouth Town - along with all funds raised - will be donated back to the club. MTFC is committed to extending the idea of member ownership and control and we would like to hear your views about how we can turn this promise into a reality, whether it be through holding shares or representation on the board.

The recent success of MTFC is in no little part due to you, the members of FPFC. I hope you will renew your membership in MTFC next season and continue to support the club in its endeavours in the Welsh League. We really need you!
